E Summit

The Kent Energy and Environmental Task Force held its first ‘Environmental Summit’ on February 20, 2010.  It was hosted at the Kent Center School in Kent , CT.

The workshops and panel discussions were well attended and received and the 'expo floor' of both vendors and exhibitors was a hit! Topics of conservation and alternative energy, waste and recycling, transportation, land and water use, as well as new legislation were covered.

Congressman Chris Murphy, CT Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, Senator Andrew Roraback, and Representative Mary Ann Carson participated in the event.

Enabling Ordinary People to do Extraordinary Things

The mission of the Kent Environmental Summit is to inform participants about pressing environmental issues and to present them with concrete actions to address these problems on a local and personal level.

What happens after the conference is as important as the conference itself.

Our goal is to encourage ongoing, individual and collaborative actions to create a sustainable community. We believe that civic engagement and community action can produce measurable results and offer valuable models for other communities.

The Kent Environmental Summit is presented in partnership with
Housatonic Valley Association, Kent Memorial Library and Kent Land Trust
